- All individuals seeking a graduated driver's license in Connecticut must apply for a knowledge test and pass it to earn the Connecticut learner's permit.
- Adults who hold a Connecticut learner's permit must wait a minimum time period of 90 days. Teens who hold a Connecticut learner's permit must wait a minimum of 120 days if taking an approved 30-hour full teen driver course. Otherwise, the wait time for new teen drivers is 180 days.
- All new drivers must complete the Connecticut State-mandated 8-Hour Safe Driving Practices Course.
- New teen drivers and their parents must attend a 2-Hour Parent Class.
- All new drivers must pass the Connecticut Road Exam to earn their Graduated Driver's License.
